Why did the river apply for a job at the bank?
It wanted to make some more waves in its career. But when the river got to the interview, it realized it was all just a stream of consciousness, and it flowed right out of the office.
Meanwhile, I heard the ocean complaining to the lake, “Why do people go to you for relaxation when I’m the one who’s truly deep?” The lake just replied, “Maybe because I’m not so salty all the time!”
Speaking of jobs, I once saw a man so tired from work that he collapsed right on the street. I rushed over and gave him a motivational quote, hoping it would revive his spirit. It turns out, words can be more powerful than you think, especially when you’re trying to lift someone back to their feet with just a sentence.
On another note, have you ever noticed how some people age like fine wine, while others age like milk left out in the sun? I met a guy the other day who looked so ancient, I almost asked him if he came with a historical plaque. Turns out, he was just 30 but had lived through too many stressful deadlines.
Lastly, it’s funny how people say that life is precious. But then again, so are diamonds, and yet we dig them out of the earth and wear them around our necks. Maybe life is like a diamond – hard to find, harder to keep, and even harder to understand why we’re so obsessed with it.
