Why do we say time flies?

By

Why do we say time flies? I guess time is a bird, soaring through the sky, while we’re all just trying to catch it with our bare hands. But have you ever noticed, the more we try to hold onto it, the faster it seems to slip away? Maybe time doesn’t like to be caged, much like a bird. Yet, we spend our lives trying to trap it in calendars and clocks.

Speaking of trying to hold onto things, have you considered why we bother with relationships? They say love is a battlefield, but I think it’s more like trying to balance on a unicycle while juggling chainsaws. People often talk about the highs of love, but rarely mention how it can make you feel like you’re in a circus act without a safety net. And yet, we keep signing up for the show, hoping this time we’ll master the performance.

On another note, did you know that my friend tried to fix his broken heart with a Band-Aid? He said it didn’t work, but at least it stopped the bleeding of his emotions for a moment. It got me thinking, maybe all those big problems in life could use a touch of such simple solutions. Like, imagine solving world hunger with a giant pizza party. Sure, it sounds silly, but who wouldn’t want to try a slice of peace?

Lastly, ever wonder about the wisdom of the ages? They say with age comes wisdom, but if that’s true, then why do we auction off old paintings instead of old people? Imagine going to an antique shop and bidding on a wise old man, just to pick his brain over tea. It sounds absurd, but maybe, just maybe, we’re valuing the wrong things in life. After all, isn’t a person’s wisdom more priceless than any old canvas?
